Gato (or Gavo), are native to Gallan, making up a solid 20% of the populace, originating from the woodlands, gradually expanding farther and farther into the world at large. A race of bear-owl people, their emotive Rorschach faces can be dizzying to gaze upon for those sensitive to motion sickness, while their strong stature and unique antlers deter any of those with lingering thoughts of tussling with them!
The first race to traverse beyond their original sect of woodlands, the Gato were the forefront of settling amongst the many places within the wild lands; from the farthest North to the deepest part of the wildlands, a wide range of old-world settlements have stayed aloft, far from the modern growth of civilization. There's been show of some clans who, having kept such closure to their settlements and camps, have families that have grown particularly different, in relation to the environmental differences. Nearly every known clan has a distinctive trait, from their coat-colour, to the way their antlers form!
Natural crafters, designers, often fabricating, sewing, or sculpting in their free time, they'll work with any material they can get their hands on, though attentions rarely last long enough to become masters...
Passionate and decisive, the Gato people are hardy, boisterous, and are always the first to enjoy a hearty feast and good story. Their long days are spent both hunting and growing their communal bonds between family, friends, and neighbors.
Originally a woodlands-based community, their diet consists of common plant and animal life, with their expansive trading connections offering a variety of other vegetables, fish, tobacco, artworks, and fruits.
Because of their well-known good and personable attitude, friendly dispositions and willingness to learn, Gato have good relations with most every race! Some individuals can feel a little haughty when it comes to Hymun or Aedrachen...
Gato tend to repel magic like water off a ducks back, and are still effective with using it!
