Gavogah-toe (plural: gavo) - Original ref. (May 2, 2014 )- [STR] 5 [STA] 5 [EVA] 3 [DEF] 4 [MNT] 3 [INT] 4 - __________________________________________________________ Gavo are native to Gallan, making up a solid 20% of the populace, originating from the woodlands, gradually expanding farther and farther into the world at large. A race of bear-owl people, their emotive Rorschach faces can be dizzying to gaze upon for those sensitive to motion sickness, while their strong stature and unique antlers deter any of those with lingering thoughts of tussling with them!
The first race to traverse beyond their original sect of woodlands, the Gavo were the forefront of settling amongst the many places within the wild lands; from the farthest North to the deepest part of the wildlands, a wide range of old-world settlements have stayed aloft, far from the modern growth of civilization. There's been show of some clans who, having kept such closure to their settlements and camps, have families that have grown particularly different, in relation to the environmental differences. Nearly every known clan has a distinctive trait, from their coat-colour, to the way their antlers form!
Natural crafters, designers, often fabricating, sewing, or sculpting in their free time, they'll work with any material they can get their hands on, though attentions rarely last long enough to become masters...
Passionate and decisive, the Gavo people are hardy, boisterous, and are always the first to enjoy a hearty feast and good story. Their long days are spent both hunting and growing their communal bonds between family, friends, and neighbors.
Originally a woodlands-based community, their diet consists of common plant and animal life, with their expansive trading connections offering a variety of other vegetables, fish, tobacco, artworks, and fruits. Because of their well-known good and personable attitude, friendly dispositions and willingness to learn, Gavo have good relations with most every race! Some individuals can feel a little haughty when it comes to Hymun or Aedrachen...
Gavo tend to repel magic like water off a ducks back, and are still effective with using it! -

The [History] of GavoThe original race native to Gallan, the Gavo were the first to call Kokoata home. Their settlements, villages and homesteads are all tucked away far across the lands, with some more accessible to adventurous traders and others more quietly hidden away, deep in the underbrush... Gavo have been at the forefront of trading for an age and a day; offering a vast amounts of pelts, bone, and strong hearty meats from one clan to another. Their pathways & trails became named, well-known, and before very long, expanded into newer territories, including deep south into the Vi-dan jungle, and across the massive Evolhiems' river. Forging a fast friendship, they immediately began trading with Hoi, Humans, and eventually ( after the initial clash), the Aedrachen. As Humans became known, moving from the Southern Ocean, up towards the Northern half of Gallan, the Gavo established trading routes became grounds for excessive caravans and large gatherings for trading to happen between races. As the roads became congested, the Gavo offered to help the people to establish their own territory ( and out of the way)- in exchange, they'd ask for a helping hand with fending off Aedrach ambushing their traders & adventuring parties in the Jungle. Over time, as the races grew in size and their trade-ship bonds grew, Half-breed numbers ( later self-proclaimed as Hymun) became a larger part of their settlements, and a great game of 'Prove-your-strength' gained traction. The less-thans' often fought with every ounce of their will-power to prove their physical strength ( often visibly dampened by the Human genes), and to offer as much as any Gavo to the rest of their clan. Hymun eventually became voyagers on the behalf of Gavo, proclaiming many new areas of settlements & resource-gathering in favor of their families and clan. Following the half-beaten trails hand-made by their hybrid offspring, the Gavo met the Hoi at Evolhiems' River; their goodhearted nature opened up trading prospects along the conjoined territories, and though the races met rarely, the offered resources, items, and crafts in trades are always of fine quality. With most trades done through the backwoods, the Gavo saw few signs of their friends trafficking; up until Humans' and their friends began showing up to trades with more than a handful of pearlescent scales, fins, and horn. After coming to the same conclusion with their Hymun sons and daughters, the Gavo pushed for the cease and desist of their water-born cousins slaughter. They stepped forward again when the Youshi became known as being sentient, helping Hymun, Aedrachen, and Hoi all push for the freedom and safety of all sentient beings. Gavo helped to found the Grand City Thera, and with their influence, guarantee the city keeps to the guidelines that allow it to be a safe spaces for other sentient races to thrive in. They make up most of the Council, Shop keepers, and most take up seats within the Guildhouse. __________________________________________________________
