You'll need a Certificate to create a Youshi-Avatar!- Youshiyuh-shee (plural: Youshi) -  __________________________________________________________ Youshi originally came from far-off lands, from beyond the horizon, travelling in hopes of finding a land that wasn't as as terribly harsh as their own. With large rounded muzzles filled with strong teeth, dense furry bodies, big-ears and a thick-tail, they're a sight to behold. Made for a physical fight that won't last, they're a force to be reckoned with- even without shifting into an Alternate form. Their individual magically-innate abilities, as-well-as their shapeshifting capabilities, make them a tank in battle and very rarely a target for passing thievery. Youshi pelts, covered in a fine waterproof velvet, can take on a rich and un-naturally seeming shade of colour; any colour found on the rainbow! Un-fortunately, because of their fantastical pelts and resource-rich bodies, they were hunted by adventure seekers and trophy hunters for a lengthy period of time, before their partnership with Gato secured them a safe spot within society. Hard-workers, technical in thought and highly detailed with their work, Youshi boast a fantastic skill with tinkering and the mechanical way things work- they almost always love a good challenge, and favor even ridiculous aspects of mechanics! A race based from non-native lands, their diet has managed to remain healthy and rounded, consuming a robust amount of rocks, geodes, wood, and meat. Known for their tinkering mindsets, Youshi are almost always the first to be brought into iron-workshops or brought onto projects that requires a finer mesh of working-parts-and-pieces. In these modern times they've grown to become a well-respected species, though their rough-and-tough attitude can get them into some argumentized conversations with Hoi and Aedrachen. Some still carry begrudging histories with the family lines that hunted their ancestors for resources and glory. Magic is very effective against a Youshi in a fight; at the same time, they're rather illiterate when using it themselves, save for their strong, lineage-focused abilities! -

The [History] of YoushiYoushi arrived to Kokoata after the original sentient races first began talking of peace. Travelling across the vast terrain of rocky mountains and sheer cliffsides from the far northern-west migrating trails, they initially came upon a Human and Gato settlement while in beastial form ( for better ease hauling cargo and packages); the attacks began instantaneously. Despite a Youshi's individual strength, the larger numbers of Humans and befriended allies became a winning combination, and their casual forms were deftly ignored in favor of 'The Hunt'. The rich, vengeful, and power hungry onslaught of various hunters, trappers, and adventurers who wanted to prove their strength through fighting powerful beings in climactic battles, was drawn out over many years. Youshi were pinned between their homeland ( a wretched place crawling with ferals, dangerous environments, toxic air and starving family) and the lands of Kokoata; her entrance essentially guarded by the busy rough-and-tough settlements of Humans-Gato relations, who each outnumbered travelling Youshi 15-1. After decades of being sought out as a beast to master and conquer rather than a sentient people, Youshi and their battle-hardy ways eventually wore out a semblance of respect, within both the Human and Gato communities. The generations-long strife and conflict, slowly calmed, eventually becoming a conversation between those who were willing to talk and willing to listen. As talks continued, the call eventually came for acknowledging them as an intelligent peoples, rather than a creature to seek for boastful-hunting rights and glory. The call caused a rift between the citizens who wanted the chance to prove their glory in battle, and those who would no longer stand for fighting, or the slaughtering, of sentient peoples. The successful passing of the law is attributed to the Youshi's arrival, despite the Aedrachen and Hymun already calling for awareness of their races and their demands for freedom and respected lives. After officially being declared, Youshi were allowed through the guarded mountain-pass, able to join the larger settlements and communities at the bottom of the mountains and beyond. Since joining, they've recently come to meet Hoi, Hymun, and Aedrachen. Youshi have settled into the space of detail-oriented iron-workers and mechanical crafters. Their handy skill and jobs make them a highly employable people, though in this present day, it's still far from uncommon for one on their lonesome to be targeted by hungry fighters, adventurers, or any kind of person who would risk everything for a climactic, flashy battle to meet the end... __________________________________________________________

Youshi [Lineage]
Youshi lineage is often very distinctive! 90% of Youshi born will take after one parents color, and the others hue; there's always a chance of mixed-colours, resulting in greens, purples & oranges. All Youshi will take on only one of their parents' magical capabilities, or none at all!
There is little importance placed on ones ancestry, as the lands and ferals are volatile enough that the importance has boiled down to 'survive' vs. 'thrive'. Histories of their ancestors are played out in fun stories, each name/ancestroy with a given name and a recollection of their past that almost always comes out more doofy as each generation gives its own flare or re-write.
Most Youshi are a strong enough colour that there isn't a need to make introduction based on family-lines, as the lineage is inherent!
Spring-born can sport patterns found on Equines
Summer-born often bear patterns found on Felines
Autumn-born can sport patterns found on Pythons
Winter-born pattern potential is varied, but they're always 'washed out'!

Gharduu the Red
'He once sought excessive fortunes deep in a cave, hearing someones promise of 'Treasure,' He got his foot stuck in a hidden hole, and was robbed blind by three tiny moles!'
Rich reds, rusty browns and terra-cotta oranges, they favor rocky, mountainous terrain.
Those with this heritage can potentially breathe fire.
Verda the Green
'She was a beaut to be had, but she loved the greenery more than the boys; it's said the very plants that surround us are her family!' Mossy, mint, and swampish, this lineage can sport a bright splash of any variety of colour! They prefer wooded or jungle-based terrain.
Those with this heritage can potentially have a very strong, long, sticky tounge.
Osh the Blue
'A brilliant lad to be sure, he once saw the sea and was so awe-struck he turned blue himself!' Sea, sky, and deep-nacy blues, this lineage often has spots, large and small in a variety of patterns! They prefer living by large bodies of water, or rivers.
Those with this heritage can potentially grow short wings that allow them to glide.
Maidre the Yellow
'She was going to travel to the edge of the world; we gave her a wave each time she lapped the world, dyed by the sun after following it so long!' Pastel, rich or deep, the yellows are often accompanied by hints of red or orange, with a large pattern on one area, or all, of their body. They prefer wide open plateaus or fields.
Those with this heritage can potentially break the earth with heavy leaps and bounds.
