Livestock

Made up of domesticated animals which are kept for their byproduct or resource; Farmers and Ranchers are licensed to keep these animals in large numbers for the purpose of Free-Fall, Collection or Harvest!

Guidelines:
. species within the 'docile' Class can be kept as livestock!
. you need to be licensed to keep herds
. the amount of Livestock kept, is dictated by the size of your plots
. specific tools are needed for collecting specific resources.. i.e. a filleting knife to prepare a fish!
. quality of Livestock resources are determined by Skill/Skillsets

Freefall:
Some livestock have freefall resources; that means they shed, or give something, without a thought! This includes avians shedding old flight feathers, equine-beasts shedding seasonal antlers, or mammals shedding large clumps of fur.

Livestock with 'freefall' resources will have their resources listed in their individual Encyclopedia entry, along with any notes regarding finding the resource, i.e. some freefall resources can only be collected during a cold winters morning!

Collection:
Different than freefall, collection/collecting requires involvement from the Avatar wherein a creature can create a byproduct; collecting is a directive taken by an Avatar to collect something from a living thing. Honey, eggs, milk, and similar resources fall under this category.

Livestock with 'Collection' resources will have their own book in the library, exploring the tools and the guide for how-to collect from a particular beast/pet/companion.

Harvest:
To take from a living thing; the resources which make up a living being- meat, leather, bones, eyes, tongue, and everything in-between. These goods are highly sought after by craftsmen, chefs, and traders of all kinds; high quality harvests can be worth more than a tidy sum!

All living things can be 'harvested', but it takes a skilled master to take out fine-quality cuts and dig-out those strange, delicate inner-structures found in strange beasts...Dressing the Fields takes any hunter step-by-step on the process of a quality Harvest.

All species listed in the Encyclopedia will have a list of resources which can be found on them...
